Joe's Story

He couldn't pass the Sergeant's exam

Joe came to see us after hearing about using hypnosis to stop smoking from a friend. He wanted to know if hypnosis could help him pass his promotion exam. This is what he said:

"I always used to panic whenever I took a test and then score badly or fail it. I wasn’t dumb, but I just couldn’t take tests, so I looked dumb."

"I wanted to get a promotion in my job, but I had to pass a test in order to be promoted, and I knew I couldn’t do it. I tried it several times and couln't make the grade."

"Then I heard about hypnosis with the PATH Foundation. I decided what the heck, so here I am."

After 2 session of hypnosis, Joe released his reasons for his test anxiety and his blocks to learning, then he learned a new way to learn and overcome his fears. He said that his Sergeant's exam was in 2 months and he was going to really study now.

We didn't hear from Joe for about a year, until he called again. He asked: "Can I come in again for another session of hypnosis." He scheduled another session, and when he came in I looked at his file and asked him how he did on his Sergeants exam.

He said "Oh, there were 600 of us that took that exam and only 13 of us made 100 on the test. I was promoted to sergeant the next month. But now I want to study for and take the Lieutenant's exam."

He also said: "I am amazed that in the hypnosis I released all my psychological reasons for my test anxiety, and it was done without bringing up any bad feelings."

Joe became a Lieutenant in the polce department and is now succeeding in life.
